Courses for Core Skills

Creative Thinking Skills for Effective Policy & Decision Making

Overview

Our background, education, workplace and even friends, can sometimes constrain our creativity. Feedback such as ‘that won’t work’ and 'we tried that before' is commonplace. With time and budget constraints, being creative can feel like an extra burden that we simply can't afford. It isn’t. Not only does creativity enrich decisions and policymaking, it is an effective way of making the process faster, more collaborative and better. It’s true that Analysts are logical thinkers but it’s an unfair assumption that Analysts lack creativity.

This one-day course aimed at Government Analysts will enhance delegates’ creative decision and policy-making skills and encourage innovative ways of thinking from the teams they work with. This course also gives participants alternative ways of looking at policy challenges (definition and solution) with Creativity & Innovation tools. It provides practical and proven tools and techniques to enhance the policy development process (e.g. ROAMEF or others), which can be used by individuals and teams.
